01 License
Auther grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple's Standard End User License Agreement and these Terms. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app.
02 Subscription & billing
Auther Pro is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the Apple App Store. It unlocks the advanced features listed on our pricing page.
How the subscription works
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, and again on each renewal.
- Manage & cancel. You can manage or cancel anytime in your device Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; the current period remains active until it ends.
- Price changes. If the subscription price changes, Apple will notify you and ask for consent before the next renewal, per App Store rules.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests are subject to Apple's policies; we do not process payments directly.

03 Free features
The core of Auther — unlimited passwords and two-factor codes, iCloud sync, autofill, and the password generator — is free and does not require a subscription. A subscription only unlocks advanced tools such as breach alerts, additional item types, multiple vaults, and travel mode.
04 Your master password
We cannot recover your master password. Because Auther has no backend and never stores your master password, there is no reset link and no support team that can unlock your vault. If you lose it and your Recovery Kit, your data cannot be recovered. This is a deliberate security property, not a limitation we can override.
You are solely responsible for keeping your master password and Recovery Kit safe.
05 Acceptable use
You agree to use Auther only for lawful purposes and only to store credentials and data you are authorized to hold. You may not use the app to store or facilitate anything illegal.
06 No warranty
Auther is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements.
07 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Auther and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the app — including data loss resulting from a forgotten master password.
08 Termination
You may stop using Auther and delete the app at any time. Deleting the app removes local data from that device; data in your iCloud remains until you remove it. These Terms remain in effect while you use the app.
09 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, with the date updated at the top of this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
